Take me to the Rivers

Those of you who know me - and what a lucky, lucky lot you are :) - realize I love good music in small venues. You also know that I love Weezer.

Sometimes, the stars align.

The Weezer front man's coming to Belmont Shore.

On Nov. 25, Rivers Cuomo will perform at Fingerprints, an indie music shop that's a three-minute walk from my front door. He's promoting his new, yet-to-be-released solo album, "Alone II." Tickets became available at 11 a.m. yesterday, and I snagged up two. The venue holds only 50 people - it's a record shop, for God's sake - so the tickets were gone in minutes.

He's going to invite up members of the audience to perform with him. Should I bring spoons, or a washboard?

In the fall of 2005 - and fresh off the plane from Hawaii - I saw Weezer open up for the Foo Fighters in Long Beach Arena. They were tight.

I've pre-ordered a signed LP version of Cuomo's new release. Now all I need is a turntable ...
